United Nations trip to Shinnecock Bay, NY: In 2016, ShiRP hosted UN Ambassadors from 13 countries at the Stony Brook Southampton Marine Station, to highlight the benefits of clam sanctuaries and to showcase our scientific approach to inspire restoration in their home countries.
Educational boat trips in Shinnecock Bay for The Explorers Club members: In 2022 and 2023, ShiRP hosted trips from Manhattan to highlight Shinnecock Bay’s new Hope Spot status, and to showcase science, exploration, and restoration happening just 60 miles from one of the largest cities in the world.
